Proteus Agility, another Thai prominent Startup in Echelon 2012

Having introduced Builk.com from Thailand few days ago, today we would like to introduce another Thai Startup who will participate in the exhibition of echelon 2012. The distinguished product of this startup is at the Agile software development that is seldom found in Thailand. Let us introduce them right away as follows:

Introducing company and product

Proteus Agility Pte. Ltd is a tech startup of a Thai team who has years of experience of using Agile software development not only in practicing with their own projects but also coaching others to do it. Now they are leveraging that experience by taking their internal project management and collaboration software to global market.

Eidos is a Software-as-a-Service which helps everyone in the software project e.g. developers, managers and customers collaborating effectively under Agile methodology which focuses on delivering rapid and frequent working software allowing customers? feedback to gradually fine tune the software to be what customers really want. Agile works just fine with a small co-located team but when it comes to a project with multiple teams, dispersed teams or distributed team, collaboration can be a challenge. Eidos can be a remedy for this challenge.

Before becoming the Eidos of Proteus Agility, Eidos was an internal project management and collaboration software of Proteus Technologies. In the past 3 years, it has been serving more than 100 users and 40 projects. Currently, it is under backend refactoring and frontend extreme makeover so that it is ready for the beta in Q3 and launch in Q4 of 2012.

Agile is becoming mainstream in global software development trend including in Thailand where Proteus Agility is officially sponsoring Agile Thailand 2012,a tech conference to be held in June 17th, 2012 (Who is interested in this conference, please register while limited seats are still available.)?This is a good sign of rapidly growing market which Proteus Agility predicts to be worth more than 2 billions US dollars. With simplicity and flexibility, Eidos hope to get a share of this rapidly growing market to earn 1 million US dollars within 3-5 years.

The current Proteus Agility team has been together for only 3 months but they have an interesting mix ranging from an industry guru with more than 10 years experience to a passionate college intern. Proteus Agility is still looking for coding lover to join their team so feel free to check out their career page.

Motivation to participate in Echelon 2012

They said “Working in a tech startup sometimes is like hiking up the mountain peak surrounded by sea of fog. The destination is clouded and there is no one around you. You are wonderd if anyone has traveled on the road you have taken. Imagine how good it would be to talk to friends who have stumbled upon a fun hike, a nice view or even a dead end. Echelon is like a seminar for these hikers where they can have a group therapy and nice party. It is an experience which you cannot find from reading startup manuals and how-to books. How can we miss it!”

As one of the 50 startups to be presented at Echelon 2010 Exhibition, Proteus Agility hopes to ?meet other tech startups that need help managing their software development effort and learn about what other people are doing to manage their software development including what issues they are having. Raising fund is a lower priority as the company already have some seed funding but it would be nice to connect with investors who are interested in the business values of using Agile methodology in software development as well as other knowledge work.
